Meeting Description:
Because a team approach to palliative care can, and should, include everyone in an oncology setting, the 2016 Palliative Care in Oncology Symposium will provide information that is vital to the entire cancer care team across the continuum of care. Designed for physicians, palliative care specialists, nurses, hospice professionals, social workers, and others, this year’s program includes cutting-edge laboratory research presented in abstracts as well as renowned speakers and discussants who use their expertise in the field to put that research into clinical context. The sessions include talks on symptom management, immunotherapeutics—its promise and challenges, the role of the caregiver, and disparities in care and access—the whole-patient perspective.
